Crossing to Brazil!

Brasil...finalmente!

Brazil

We entered Brazil through the border town of Acegua on November 2nd at 7:15 PM. Immigration agent Francisco took care of our passports while having his “mate” and agent Miguel was in charge of Customs, paperwork was simple and quick and then we were legally entered Brazil!! As it was night already we drove a few blocks past the Customs office and ask permission to stay overnight at a BR gas station; and they even allowed us to stay under the roof, which was handy since it was raining.

The next day, before taking the road again, Daniel changed the tire which was ripped when we entered Uruguay and he also changed the oil. In a trip like this one has to know at least a  little about the vehicle and take along several spare parts, oil, tools, tools specifically for your vehicle, tires, etc…We filled up for the first time in Brazil and resumed our route.

We went through and entered the city of Bage, where we needed to find a bank to take some Brazilian money, since the money we had was taken in that event in Peru when they broke the window glass. Bage is an old city and there are still many old buildings and houses which are precious…By the road many beautiful hills and fields, mainly wheat fields, and we have also run into some coyotes looking for food, even crossing the raod…Here there are some horse farms with beautiful species of this animal. This region is very beautiful. After the town of Cacapava do Sul we entered  BR 290 towards Porto Alegre.

In the morning we had only “mate” for breakfast and we were hoping to find a restaurant on our way to eat some good barbequed chicken with “polenta”…But on our way we did not find any good place on our side of the road. So we ended up entering BR 116 and stopped at Passoquinha restaurant…that was closed already…but Mr.Gritti – in charge of the restaurant – understood our desire and was very kind to not only open his restaurant but invite Daniel to go to the kitchen and choose what he wanted…We thank Mr.Gritti’s generosity which allowed us to savor some great chicken which was delicious, in fact!!

From Porto Alegre to Campo Bom, on a Sunday afternoon, makes the stretch quick to go through. I wanted to take a picture of a sign indicating the direction to Campo Bom but there are none on BR 116, so, I needed to wait till we entered Campo Bom to get the picture. Then we got to the Cycling track, Estados Av and them 282 Tamoio Street – where Daniela and Diogo were already waiting for us – in the middle of the street… In Campo Bom, at last…

Alaska is such a wonderful destination for tourists. It has meaningful attractions to explore and have an offensive time. I like its parks, lakes and glaciers.

Alaska seems a credible place to visit. I will plan my tour of there after my https://www.goldenbustours.com/new-york-ny-tours/ to see its places and have fun.
