Miami/Kissimmee

MIAMI - KISSIMMEE

Continuing on our route, from the Keys we stopped in Miami where we camped at the Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park and Campground, which has 240 sites for RVs, and in the camping facility there's a pool, children's playground, picnic shelters, planned activities, swimming lake and waterslide, horse trails, hiking trails, bike trails and fishing, besides being adjacent to a 275-acre public park with preserved woodlands to enjoy. Being in the park it is easy for one to almost forget you are in the Miami area...

From Miami we returned to our HQ ...Sherwood Forest RV Resort, in Kissimmee, where we will keep the other RV which we will use to travel in the US when we return from our "adventure" trip. Here at the Resort we rent a site where we leave our RV when we are back in Brazil and at this resort there are pools, playground, bbq and picnic areas, basketball court, mini golf, shuffleboard, fitness room, club house, planned activities like bingo, cards, workshops, potluck dinners, breakfast socials, movie night, besides the chance to meet people from different places and even different countries since the "snow birds" from northern US and Canada come down south running away from the snow and winter weather. Besides the RV resort there's also two complexes of Park model houses which makes this neighborhood quite nice.

Here we are at 5300 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, also 192, and we are about 4 miles from the Disney Parks and 1.5 miles from Old Town, with its many shops and eateries picturing Old Town Kissimme and every Saturday there's a vintage cars cruise with songs and dancing from the good ol' times...By Old Town there's also the amusement park called Fun Spot where the youngsters really have fun.We normally ride our bikes over to Old Town.

We returned to our HQ because we intend to start our journey in the beginning of September and since this will be a long trip and we don't know what we will encounter in our way we needed to prepare the RV, buy spare parts and try to make a thorough check in the RV as not to have any surprises.

And also because we participated in the World's Longest Yard Sale - but this is the story of the next "chapter"...

Alaska is such a wonderful destination for tourists. It has meaningful attractions to explore and have an offensive time. I like its parks, lakes and glaciers.
