Fotos Marathon/Knights/Pigeon Keys

Nosso acampamento em Knights Key RV Resort. Camping at Knights Key RV Resort.

Foto tirada de dentro do quarto do motorhome. Picture taken from the inside of the RV bedroom.

This is the view we had from our site.

How about enjoying such sunset like this!!

Even better enjoying it savoring some "mate"...

This plaque shows some of the history of Marathon.

Outra vista do camping. Another view of the RV Resort.

At the other side of the RV Resort there was a nice Hotel Resort.

Daniel tentando pegar o almoco... Daniel trying to catch our lunch...

Mas foi so um "pesque e solte"... But it was just a "catch and release"...

On the second day here there was a "Luau" at the resort's beach.

Outra vista da praia. Another view of the beach.

Daniel na praia. Daniel at the beach.

Bar na praia para aquela cerveja gelada... Tiki bar at the beach for that icy cold beer...

Pigeon Key visitor center and ticket reservation for the ferry.

On the ferry towards Pigeon Key Island.

Daniel no barco Daniel on the boat

E eu... And myself...

Uma pontinha da Seven mile bridge. A bit of the Seven mile bridge.

The Old seven showing some deteriorated sections.

Getting off the boat at the island which was the camp for the construction of the Overseas Railroad.

One of the old buildings became a museum...

...which tells how the railroad was sketched and built.

And it is said that Flagler imported cement from Europe for bearing better quality.

Um dos predios antigos, tombados pelo patrimonio historico One of the old buildings, all on the National Register of Historic Places

Refeitorio e cozinha Eating room and kitchen

Outro predio Another building

Mais predios... More buildings...

In the rear one can see part of what used to be the railroad which was afterwards "enlarged" and became the Overseas Highway.

Vejam a ponte la no fundo. See the bridge on the background.

Note how clear and shallow the water is, this aspect made it easier to build the base for the railroad.

This is part of the bridge Daniel and I walked back with the island on the background.

Que beleza de agua, nao?? What nice water, isn't it??

The two bridges - the Old Seven and the new Seven Mile Bridge.

E ponte a perder de vista... Bridge without end...

Alguns habitantes do local. Some inhabitants of the place.

Alaska is such a wonderful destination for tourists. It has meaningful attractions to explore and have an offensive time. I like its parks, lakes and glaciers.
